Want to build a broad foundation of skills, or just learn your favorite songs? I'll design a course of study that's just right for you or your child. I have been playing guitar since age 10, and I have given thousands of guitar lessons. Playing and teaching the guitar has been a life-long joy for me, and I have the experience and skills to pass that enjoyment on to you.
We'll start with an initial consultation to discuss your musical goals and dreams. Do you aspire to play in a band? Would you like to be able to create and play great lead guitar solos? Maybe you want to get into songwriting. Maybe all you want to do is to be able to play for friends and family, or just learn and improve for your own enjoyment. We'll discuss what types of music you like, and who your favorite artists are.
From there, I will customize your lessons with your musical goals as the target. We'll concentrate on what you need to know and which skills you need to develop to get to your goals in the shortest time possible. The emphasis will be on the enjoyment of playing the instrument rather than wasting time learning stuff you don't need to know. The goal is for you to feel good about your progress and quickly get you to the next level. If over time, or even right from the start, you decide you want to play in some professional capacity, then I am able to teach music theory, sight reading, and the advanced techniques you'll need to get there.
Lesson fees are $45 per hour. If it is within the region from Murrells Inlet to Pawleys Island, SC I will travel to your home to give the lessons. One hour lessons once a week are recommended for my students as the most efficient way to progress. Parents are welcome to watch the lesson.
Lessons may be paid with cash or check.
Lessons cancelled within 24 hours must be paid for and cannot be rescheduled unless due to illness or emergency. Lessons cancelled with more than 24 hours notice can be rescheduled or skipped at no additional charge. I am flexible and understanding so if you need a specific arrangement we can make it happen.
